Pinot Noir Wines are Characteristic of the Red Wines in France
Pinot Noir is a light, dry red wine
made from grapes of the same name. The Gauls before the Roman invasion
first used the grapes and only recently in the early 1900's made
its way to other regions including California wines and other vineyard
regions around the world.
This Pinot grape is the primary grape in widespread use in Burgundy
(Bourgogne), France. For many years, this wine region was the only
one in the world to have consistent success in successful vineyards
growing this grape. All other regions struggle with this difficult
grape to grow and make into wine.
Pinot Noir's color is found in a variety of shades from bright
red to deep purple and even amber as the wine ages. The distinctive
flavors of this wine include dry, earthy and vanilla. You can also
find some sweet, fruity tastes similar to strawberry, plum and raspberry.
Pinot Noirs are ideal to accompany light beef dishes and pasta
with read sauce. Many people enjoy Pinot Noir wines with goose and
even local game. If you are looking to give a pleasurable gift and
