Last Minute Holiday Gift Ideas - Send Food Gifts

The holidays are upon us and with just weeks to go you're wracking your brain to come up with some last minute holiday gift ideas. More than ever Americans are saying no to useless gifts and clutter so why not consider sending the gift of food. It's delicious and unique, won't need storage space for long but leaves the recipient with a long lasting and fond memory.

We've come a long way from the fruit and cheese gift basket (although if you're in the middle of a Minnesota winter, a basket of fresh California fruit would be more than welcome). For the good friend that lives so far away from you now and that you miss a lot, how about a quarterly gift of a pre-assembled gourmet meal. Or better yet, a fresh Maine lobster dinner, complete with boiling pot and bibs.

As a twist to the standard wine and cheese you can now send micro brewed beer and cigars. And if you were planning to send cheese it's no longer just Jack or Cheddar, you can choose specialty cheeses from all over the world. Or better yet, how about some caviar to go with that champagne? And chocolate? Send hand-made, artisan chocolates from France.

You get the idea. It's that memorable treat that shows how much you're thinking of them. And since food is a perishable item it needs to be sent overnight or 2nd day air so you can still get the gift there in time for the holiday celebration.
